GDC Technology inks additional deal with Dadi to install 300 digital cinema servers in China

GDC Technology (“GDC”), a world leading digital cinema solution provider, is pleased to announce the signing of a major contract in China. Under the new agreement, Dadi Digital Cinema Development Limited (“Dadi”) will deploy 100 units of GDC’s SA-2100 Digital Cinema Server in China by the middle of 2009. A roll out target of 300 servers by 2010 has also been set.

2008 UK Film Production statistics and box office numbers

The latest statistics from the UK Film Council paint a mixed picture for film in the UK in 2008. While UK box office receipts reached a record high, film production spend in the UK was down compared with the previous year.

Cinemagoing in India – Latest research from Dodona

Claims that four billion Indians a year visit the movies are questioned by Dodona Research in its latest report, Cinemagoing India. Instead Dodona estimates that cinema admissions in India are in the region of 1.5 billion, with admissions to ‘Bollywood’ films outside the country adding a few tens of millions more.
